Chloé Chassany

Nice to meet you, I'm Chloé Chassany, designer

Chloé Chassany

Originally from neighbouring France and raised on crozet gratins, Chloé Chassany is a designer and co-founder of O’Matic. Passionate about software since childhood, she decided to follow this path that was waiting for her.

In a nutshell, what is your job?

To put it simply, I would say that my job, my profession, is to ‘understand users so that they can understand everything.’ That’s what best defines what I do, in my opinion.

This can of course be reflected in an interface (my ‘main’ job, UX/UI) but also in graphic design, motion graphics, etc., where it is necessary to understand your target audience well to ensure you don’t miss the mark!

Where are you from?

After completing my education in France, notably in Lyon at the Bellecour School with a Bachelor’s degree in Digital Graphic Design and a Master’s degree in Service and Interaction Design (UX/UI), I decided to explore the Geneva web scene.

As I gained professional experience working in a team of developers, at a communications agency and for an advertiser, I discovered a passion for the world of the web and mobile applications, which allow for a little more creativity.

What is your role in O’Matic?

Design, interface design, animation… My role is limitless! I enjoy adapting to the different needs of projects and clients to offer them the best possible experience! What’s more, I love discovering new fields, new things, new professional environments…

What do you enjoy most about your job?

I especially enjoy bringing ideas to life. I don’t necessarily consider myself creative because I am very logical and rational, and that is precisely what helps me on a daily basis to carry out projects that work and are well received! I love what I do and I hope that this comes across in the way I am and communicate.

What is your vision for O’matic?

My goal is to create bespoke projects and designs for users first and foremost, and only secondarily for our clients, at the risk of incurring their wrath… 😏 Be aware that the famous ‘I don’t like this colour’, ‘I don’t like this font’ or ‘I don’t like the layout’ are more common than they seem, and yet studies show that… (well, I won’t go into any more detail on the subject, you know what I mean! We just ask you to trust us!)

Of course, my primary goal is to grow O’Matic to bring together people who share the same values as me (from a technological and human perspective, etc.).

What are your values?

I share many of Thomas‘ values, which is surely why we founded O’Matic together!

Firstly, I would say a positive attitude! I try my best to convey my positive attitude and passion in the various projects I am involved in.

Next, I would say transparency and communication. I like to understand how things work and explain how they work to everyone. I try as much as possible to demystify the world of design, which is not always easy! I also like my clients to understand every stage of their project and to be self-sufficient once it is complete, which facilitates better implementation and communication!

Finally, the human and ethical side. I try as much as possible to adhere to Design for Good, Privacy by Design, and accessibility criteria (WCAG, RGAA, Human Interface Guidelines, etc.). My goal is not to create yet another application or website. Rather, it is to do things right from the start so that everyone can be included (without necessarily having to trust it).
