Front-end development for the Les Frères Brigands application
Les Frères Brigands, two passionate brothers, created outdoor adventures in the canton of Vaud in 2020.
In 2024, they decided to digitise their concept with a mobile application, allowing users to experience puzzles and adventure games directly on their smartphones. The challenge? To create an application that works even without a network connection, for adventures in the forest or mountains.
From PDFs to mobile app
Previously available as downloadable PDFs, Les Frères Brigands have decided to revisit their adventures by offering an interactive mobile application where each puzzle is unlocked, like a treasure hunt.
Creating an application may seem simple to those in the know, but when it comes to an application that requires its users to travel to areas where there may be no network coverage, it’s a whole different story. The main challenge was to design a solution that would work without a network, for users travelling in forests or mountains.
Optimised development for offline use
We handled the front-end development of the application using React Native and Expo to create an intuitive, fluid interface adapted to offline constraints. Thanks to a system for pre-downloading adventures and local data management, users can enjoy an uninterrupted experience, even in the most remote areas.
In collaboration with Appogée, which managed the back end, we assisted Les Frères Brigands with the administrative aspects of offering the app on the App Store and Google Play Store, with around fifteen immersive adventures available in the regions of Lavaux, Lausanne, Geneva, Lyon, Nyon, Valais, and more.
